Learn how to play the didgeridoo in Queensland or take a bush tucker tour of the Top End on a self-drive holiday that will connect you with these uniquely Australian experiences delivered by Indigenous guides or hosts.

thl’s suite of campervan brands have partnered with Tourism Australia and Indigenous Business Australia’s Indigenous Tourism Champions Program (ITCP) to bring a diverse range of unique tourism experiences around the country to the Australian self-drive market.

Tourism Australia’s chief marketing officer Nick Baker said “Partnering with thl campervans on this initiative allows us to further engage the self-drive market in Australia. We strongly feel that this initiative will connect many more travellers with Australia’s Indigenous tourism experiences.”

All customers who choose to travel with KEA, maui, Britz or Mighty from September 2014 will receive a 25% discount to 18 indigenous experiences across five states.

The ITCP promotes and supports selected businesses that offer authentic cultural tourism experiences and campervan travellers can plan their trip via an interactive map that calculates route, time and distance from the selected thl branch to each Indigenous Tourism Champion experience.

thl’s general manager marketing & customer experience Kate Meldrum said “thl is delighted to partner with the Indigenous Tourism Champions program. We know our customers and trade partners are hungry for these authentic and unique experiences to enhance their self-drive holiday.

“As a company we want to make it easy for our customers to connect with these uniquely Australian experiences and support Indigenous tourism and local communities at the same time.”

The 25% discount is exclusively available to all customers traveling with thl campervans throughout the duration of their hire. Customers will liaise directly with the Indigenous Tourism Champion experience of their choice and simply need to present the 25% voucher upon arrival.
